Peace, Love, and the Oscars
Ted Barron and Ricky Herbst discuss what’s happening in film, both at the Browning Cinema and in the industry, for the month of February. The former involves the ScreenPeace Film Festival, a collaboration with Notre Dame’s Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, that shows global films that address conflict and resolution across the globe.
The 2017 slate includes Fire at Sea, Ixcanul, Hissein Habré: A Chadian Tragedy, Do Not Resist, and Time to Choose. Other February offerings include the James Baldwin documentary I Am Not Your Negro, throwback musical and awards titan La La Land, and an evening of Oscar-nominated shorts.
